Meet the Team

Brendan John Lawler was educated in Auckland and received an LLB from Auckland University and holds a New Zealand Law Society Practising Certificate.
He commenced practice at Rennie Cox Garlick & Sparling, Solicitors, Auckland in 1979 and completed his LLB degree at the University of Auckland.
He was admitted to the bar the following year and practiced at Rennie Cox Garlick & Sparling as a solicitor until 1983.
He worked in the United Kingdom in various legal roles and returned to New Zealand in 1985 working briefly in private practice before setting up Lawler & Co at the beginning of 1987.
Brendan has a long-time connection with the Eastern Bays area as a resident and member of the College Rifles Rugby Club. He has served on several boards, including having chaired the Board of Trustees of Sacred Heart College for some years.
He enjoys a close professional relationship with his brother Edmund Lawler of Edmund Lawler & Associates which firm specialises in commercial law.

Thomas’s clients value his effective communication and his approachable nature.

Thomas completed a Bachelor of Laws and Arts (majoring in International Relations and Politics).
Thomas is the firm’s go-to for tailored property advice that is grounded in common sense. He advises a range of clients on all types of property transactions, leases, subdivisions, trusts and estate planning.
Outside of the firm, TJ devotes himself to his young family, coaching/playing for the Auckland Marist Ruby Club and volunteering for the Sacred Heart College Old Boys Committee.

Alison completed a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court in 2018. She has a keen passion to help others and believes in building strong working relationships with her clients based on trust, effective communication, and delivering sound advice.
She is committed to providing good guidance and pragmatic solutions which enable her clients to make informed decisions. Her areas of practice include Property, Trusts, Commercial matters, Wills & Estates.
When working with Alison, clients can expect a dedicated, client-focused, and approachable lawyer who attends to their matters in a timely manner to achieve the best results.

Priyanka holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting).
She is highly skilled in Immigration and Family law. She is empathetic, approachable and committed to providing her clients with a judicious and satisfactory solution. She specialises in dissolution of marriage, separation agreements, child custody, protection orders and relationship property matters.
She is also proficient in handling various types of visa applications, Employment Accreditation, resolving complex immigration issues like Deportation, Appeals, Request for Special Direction to Immigration Ministers, Section 61 requests, providing legal representation at the Immigration Protection Tribunal and responding to RFIs.
Priyanka’s other areas of practice include Property, Trusts, Commercial matters, Wills and Estates.

Elsdon is a BCom/LLB conjoint student majoring in Management and completing his third year at the University of Auckland.
Elsdon assists with administration and plays a supporting role across the office’s various matters and is always happy to help out.
Outside of the firm, Elsdon enjoys a round of golf or a game of basketball.
